Les Gravats du Bost is situated in a safe and tranquil location, surrounded by natural and farmed countryside and wildlife is plentiful. Buzzards, kestrels, cranes, egrets, deer, boar, foxes, hares and badgers are regular visitors and the landscape can be experienced further afield by walking, cycling (a range of bicycles are provided) and on horseback. The one-acre garden offers a simple, open lawned space on which games of football, rounders, badminton, boules, tennis etc can be enjoyed (a wide range of games equipment is provided). The farmed fields which surround the property are planted with sunflowers, wheat and maize and are a constantly changing and colourful backdrop to the house and gardens. A rural 'chemin' (bridlepath) runs past the property, enabling visitors of all ages safely to explore the surrounding countryside.
The heated 10m x 5m swimming pool (newly installed for 2014) uses a salt chlorinisation system, is of a uniform depth and has large Roman-style steps providing safe paddling areas for smaller children. The whole pool area is securely fenced - a legal requirement in France - for the safety of children and non-swimmers but guests are required to monitor swimming carefully during their stay.
At cooler times of the year, the modern oil-fired underfloor heating system, double glazing and a large woodburner ensure that the property is a snug retreat too - Christmas is an especially beautiful time here, with bright sunny days and glittering, frosty landscapes.
